It's All about Him!

The role of the Host Team is invaluable at Dogwood Church. Each volunteer on the Host Team plays an important role in making the weekend experiences possible. We're a group of about 120 individuals that serve in six different ministries. To prepare for each service, we arrive at church early and work behind the scenes to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. We believe it’s a privilege to serve our God and it’s our intent to bring Him glory from the parking lot to the coffee pot.

  • The Traffic Team is our front line--the first group with the chance to make our guests feel welcome. They help folks find parking, offer a smile and let it be known that we're glad you're here.
  • The Greeting Team warmly welcomes everyone who comes through the doors. They set the tone by initiating conversation and making people feel comfortable. They greet and hand out bulletins at the front door and on our patio. They also answer questions and assist guests to the children’s ministry areas.
  • The Usher Team creates a pleasant atmosphere inside our auditorium. Our services are generally near capacity and a friendly face giving direction to seating is a welcomed sight. This team also collects the offering baskets at the close of our services and takes the lead in serving the elements of The Lord’s Supper.
  • The Help Desk provides information to regular attendees and members and provides personal attention to our guests, such as escorting families with children to specific areas, answering questions and orienting guests to our facilities.
  • The Coffee Team provides freshly brewed coffee and sets up the coffee service area before the services. Dogwood is a coffee drinking church! Most of our conversations occur over a cup of coffee, so this team is much appreciated!
  • The Lord’s Supper Team oversees and secures necessary supplies and sets up for the serving of the Lord's Supper, which usually takes place on the first Sunday of each month. Serving trays are filled with bread and hundreds of cups of grape juice in preparation for this special memorial of Christ’s sacrifice for our sins.
