It’s Not All About Me Camp 2012 - This is their 2nd canned food drive for the Real Life Center. Last year they had one grocery cart of food. This year, with more campers, they were able to collect four grocery carts full of canned goods by going door to door in their neighborhoods!!! The group is pictured below. Peachtree City Post Office Food Drive - May 12 - Thanks to everyone who donated and helped with the food. Pictured below is a group from Providence United Methodist Church who helped unload the food.

Curves in Peachtree City is running a food drive for us in March. If you take a bag of groceries to Curves the last two weeks in March, you can join for free!
Grace Evangelical Youth - month long food drive
United Way Shoebox Project - Local schools collected 1124 boxes to help those in need in Fayette County.
Word of God Church - Provided 100 bottles of Juice and their youth group went out shopping for food for the pantry.

Thanks to all who participated in this year's Post Office food drive on Saturday, May 14th. Below is a photo of some of the food collected by the Letter Carriers in Fayetteville and Peachtree City!
Bank of North Georgia held their annual PB & J drive through the end of April, accepting items at locations in Tyrone and Peachtree City. They also partnered with Crabapple, Huddleston, and Tyrone Elementary schools. Pictured below, along with some of the school children, are Huddleston's Principal, Rebecca Maddox and Stephanie Goshman from Bank of North Georgia.

Dogwood Church's food drive provided the Real Life Center with 315 bags of food on Sunday, 3/27. Thanks everyone!Peeples Elementary held a food drive for the Real Life Center in March. Here are the results from their food drive contest:
Kindergarten - 86 boxes of cereal
1st grade - 92 jars of PB & Jelly
2nd grade - 64 bottles of juice
3rd grade - 90 bottles of laundry detergent/dish soap
4th grade - 120 bottles of shampoo/conditioner
5th grade - 152 cans/bags of beans
They also donated 41 other items for a total of 645 items. Thanks Peeples Elementary!

Starrs Mill High School BETA Club held a food drive in January.
Local Boy Scouts canvassed neighborhoods Saturday, February 5, leaving bags and flyers. They went back to those neighborhoods Saturday, February 12 to collect the food. This was the largest turn out ever for a Boy Scout food Drive ... over 11,000 items!!! See photos below.

--Dogwood Church held a food drive August 28-29, and we received 322 bags. Thank you, Dogwood Church!
June-July
--Saint Paul Lutheran Church held a food drive and food was picked up June 6.
--Providence United Methodist is holding a VBS food drive, June 7-11.
--First Baptist of Fayetteville and Dogwood Church will both hold food drives during their VBS week of June 14-18.
--Peachtree City First Baptist will hold a church-wide food drive Sunday, June 20 to honor fathers on Father's Day.
--Heritage Christian Church will hold a VBS food drive the week of June 28-July 2.
--Rinnai is allowing employees to wear jeans to work every Thursday in June when they bring a food donation to work. Rinnai is matching all donations.
--Woodcreek Waves is holding food drives at 3 upcoming swim meets.
May
--Dogwood Church held a food drive May 1-2, and we received 248 bags. Thank you, Dogwood Church!
--Peachtree City and Tyrone Post Offices participated in this year's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 8. We are so grateful to have received 9,730 lbs of food from the drive (9,230 lbs from Peachtree City and 500 lbs from Tyrone).
February-April
--Boy Scouts of Fayette County held their annual food drive on Saturday, February 20 and blessed the Real Life Center with more than 7,000 lbs of food.
--Braelinn Elemenary is holding a food drive from March 29-April 2.
--Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church is holding a soup can drive.
--Cleveland Elementary is holding a food drive the week of March 15.
--Curves of Peachtree City is holding a food drive from February 15 through the end of March. Update: Curves collected 3,671 lbs of food and raised $1,407 for the RLC.
--Huddleston Elementary is holding a food drive from April 26-30.
--Grace Evangelical is holding a food drive the entire month of March.
--Joey Potter with Fellowship of Christian Athletes provided 46 cases of Butterscotch Pudding and 24 cases of Grapefruit Juice.
--Peeples Elementary is holding a food drive from March 22-26.
--St. Paul Lutheran Church Youth Group is holding a food drive in Ardenlee the last weekend in February.

Life Scout Ricky Rojas, of Troop 172 at New Hope Baptist Church, North, will be coordinating a county-wide food and clothing drive to benefit the Fayette Samaritans and Real Life Center on Aug. 15 (rain date: Aug. 29). The collections will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at several stores throughout Fayette County, and will be manned by Boy Scouts. Goals for the Eagle Scout project are to collect a total of 10,000 food and clothing items and to make the collection an annual event. Boy Scout troops in Fayette County are requested for assistance in manning the collection points and each boy helping will receive service hours and a special thank you. Update: Ricky's hard work provided the Real Life Center with more than 1,000 blankets and personal hygiene kits from Delta Air Lines, over 1,050 food items, over 350 clothing items, and over $1,500. We are so appreciative!

Dogwood Church Food Drive: We owe a heartfelt thank you to our Dogwood Church Family! There were close to 800 bags of food collected during our food drive in support of the ministry at the Real Life Center. This is the largest food drive in Dogwood's history!
